
Each person should have one or two skills they dedicate themselves to. Your party should balance these amongst themselves just like they do their combat skills. Stealth, Mechanics, Sleight of Hand and many other Skills are very important to succeeding.
Don't forget to consider your party outside of combat. The price might seem high early on, but after just a few hours, you'll be floating enough money to do this frequently, taking away the fear of accidentally ruining your character with a bad skill decision. Swapping them out is as simple as returning to your boat and opening the party menu. If you're struggling on a fight, consider why you are losing and if other party members would help. Don't limit yourself to the same characters forever. While items such as Potions are great, they lack the AoE of spells, and can't be used repeatedly. The Priest class is the best at this, while others such as the Chanter can also provide minor healing. Some enemies are weaker to one type over the other, so it pays to have a Wizard or other magical person with you at all times.
On the same wavelength, you want to have a mix of physical damage and magical. A mix ensures the healthiest folks tank damage while weaker ones stay safe further away. Your party should never be all hugging the enemy, nor should all 5 be trying to attack from range. Have a healthy mixed of close range and long range damage. So, below are a few tips to ensure your party is working well together, and easily! However, this is far from ideal, and only those seeking the greatest of challenges would want to try it. Try hard enough, and a group of all Druids could work, and a group made up entirely of Monks could work.
